Opportunities to Discuss Mutual Issues with Other Industry
Leaders – Cooperative livestock marketing and credit
associations have issues that are unique to their structures,
yet they are also faced with the general issues that affect
the livestock industry as a whole. NLPA provides a forum
for members to share ideas and information and to leverage
their influence in regard to industry representation.

Board & Educational Meetings
– NLPA meetings provide members with invaluable educational
and networking opportunities. NLPA Board meetings give members
exposure and access to information about the industry from
across the United States and Canada. NLPA’s special credit
and marketing meetings offer members new ways to explore business
offerings from other cooperatives and an opportunity to meet
people with similar job objectives.

Seat
on the NLPA Board
of Directors – NLPA members are represented
on the board of directors. Each member holds two seats: one
by a producer member and one by the chief executive officer
for the cooperative.

Funding
Opportunities – NLPA’s National
Feeder Finance Corporation was formed to provide
capitalization to livestock marketing cooperatives wanting
to create livestock credit corporations to provide financing
to livestock producers. Through the years, many of these credit
corporations flourished and have been competitive sources
of dependable credit for their borrowers. |
